Scope of Application

  • Steel production: Coke is used as a reducing agent in blast furnace processes, in order to convert iron ore into crude iron, which is then further processed into steel.

  • Foundries: Coke and coal are utilised as fuel and carburising agents  in order to – among other things – reach melting temperatures in cupola furnaces.

  • Energy sector: Coal is burned in power plants to generate electricity and drive industrial processes.

  • Chemical industry: Coke serves as a primary material for the production of chemicals such as ammonia and methanol through carburation and chemical conversion.
